The Monroe County Democratic Committee is a certified committee of the Georgia Democratic Party. We are a diverse group of citizens of Monroe County who believe in Fair Elections, Freedom of Speech, Upholding the Constitution of the United States and the protection of due process for all persons on American soil. We value the freedom of religion that is guaranteed by our Constitution and respect each persons right to worship as they see fit or to not be forced into a particular religious belief system.

We are currently living in a period of challenges to our constitutional rights and the norms of a democracy that has lasted almost 250 years. Our country was founded on the principles of citizens having certain unalienable rights. We must hold fast to this principle by voting in each and every election. This is what holds our politicians accountable; the vote. I am amazed at the history of our great country and the wrongs that have been righted since our start 250 years ago when only men who were property owners made all of the decisions. We have worked as a nation through some dark times and become a world leader economically and politically; but we are in danger of losing our place as a world leader in this present moment. I pray daily that we can be the nation that cares about all of our citizens and that parties will once again work together to solve issues rather than just attack each other with sound bites.

We would love for other like minded Monroe Countians to join us in preserving democracy, moving Monroe forward and just enjoying the fellowship of other Democrats.
